![]() What icon theme are you using? I have Sakapura (not the SVG version) and the icons aren't blurry (but still not the highest res). Thanks for that Angel. Speaking of which, all the icons are also blurry But it clearly doesn't affect all Retina setups. And as mentioned, it'd be awesome if the volunteers and certified devs got more help to improve the situation, given the very limited resources. I've seen reports so I'm not doubting there are performance problems on some setups. ![]() Perhaps not as smooth as Pages, but that's Apple's own app super optimised for macOS and M1 etc. ![]() I didn't say there are "no performance issues" at all, but it's not "absolutely unusable" like the other person said. I also have an Intel MacBook Pro from 2013 (also Retina) which I used to write a 130-page book in LibreOffice Writer, with embedded images. Using LibreOffice 7.1.4 (running via Rosetta no less). M1 MacBook Air from December 2020, so definitely a Retina display. ![]() Speaking of which, all the icons are also blurry and have never been updated for Retina or High DPI screens in general as they're also blurry on my High DPI Linux computer as well. The fact that the performance issues go away once you enable low resolution proves that but obviously at the cost of everything being blurry. This is not an isolated issue that only affects some users, it affects everyone using a Mac with a Retina display which again, has been the norm on Macs for the past 8 years. The vast majority of Mac users these days do use Retina displays though and on every single one I've used and there have been a couple, performance in LibreOffice is terrible, especially the bigger the screen size (see 5K iMac for example where scrolling is so slow, it's almost impossible). If LibreOffice is only being tested on either Macs from 2012 or before or on Mac minis with external displays attached, it would make perfect sense that this issue would go unnoticed. Just curious, what are you specs? Cause I totally see how there aren't any performance issues on pre Retina Macs or Mac minis attached to an external display but the thing is, Retina displays have been the norm for the past 8 years now. If just a tiny fraction of users did this, many of these issues would be fixed. Or consider funding developers to work on issues important to you, and that will help all users. You can do something about it! You can contribute back to the community that works really hard to give you a free office suite. Please, the Mac version of LibreOffice is in desperate need of getting attention. But as mentioned: resources are very, very limited. That's incorrect, and a bit insulting to all the hard-working volunteers testing on macOS! There's lots of testing on that platform. It really does feel like they don’t even bother testing it on Mac at all LibreOffice is a volunteer-driven, community open source project with very limited resources. ![]() If a bug hasn't been fixed, it's not because of lack of trying – but because nobody has stepped up to work on it. There’s a bug report from many years ago complaining about the scrolling issue which still hasn’t been fixed after all these years. ![]()
